tina feyOK, "Hocus Pocus" super fans (who, up until this morning, have been pretty quiet for the past 20 years), let's take a minute: Deadline is reporting that the witch-centered movie that Tina Fey is working on with Disney isn't a sequel to "Hocus Pocus," as was previously thought. Instead, it's a different witch movie that is supposedly in the vein of "Ghostbusters," which only means that it liberally combines horror and comedy in a way that everyone from your little brother to your grandmother can go and enjoy it. (Hopefully it will have a theme song that's just as catchy.)

Deadline also notes that Allison Shearmur, who is currently working on the big live action "Cinderella" for Disney (with Cate Blanchett as the evil stepmother), and that Fey is attached to star and produce. Apparently it has nothing to do with the 1993 witch comedy that starred Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker, so, to whoever was really looking forward to this: we're sorry. And it's probably time to move on.

There's no official synopsis for this movie and no intended release date, although, knowing Disney, they should lock down both of those aspects of the project very, very soon.

Fey's next film is "The Nest," costarring her BFF (and "Baby Mama" costar) Amy Poehler. Shearmur's "Cinderella" comes out next spring.
