The Oscar winning actress -- and expert twerker -- revealed her secret wish to appear in an installment of the action franchise in a recent interview with The Huffington Post. Mirren said that it was the very film that won her the Academy Award for Best Actress, 2006's "The Queen," that inspired her to want to join the thrill-seeking franchise.
As Mirren tells it, she loved driving the Land Rover that Queen Elizabeth II drives in the film, but said that it was almost like stunt driving because she couldn't see over the two large cameras strapped to the vehicle. Despite the nerve-wracking circumstances, Mirren said the experience was "really fun."
We think Mirren is pretty cool, too, and she's no stranger to action flicks thanks to her work in the "Red" franchise. We'd take the umpteenth installment in the "Fast" series with a side of Mirren any day.
I always love stunt driving. I do as much driving on my movies as I can. If there's driving stuff to be done, I always beg or insist on doing it myself. Little-known fact: Helen Mirren, stunt driver. I'd love to be in a 'Fast & Furious' movie. I keep putting feelers out. I'd love to do 'Fast & Furious.' I love Vin Diesel as well. He doesn't understand, I think he's so cool.
