Quite frankly, the return of "American Horror Story" has come to signal fall (and, more specifically, Halloween) in a way that the changing leaves and seasonal airings of "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown" used to. When "American Horror Story" comes back, you know things are about to get spooky. So it's with some jubilation that the return date for the series has been announced by FX (via Coming Soon): prepared to get scared all over again on October 8th at 10 pm. This year's entry, "American Horror Story: Freak Show," is supposedly the last for series mainstay Jessica Lange, which makes it even more unmissable.

Other things we know about this season: it's set in the fifties, in Juniper, Florida, a fabled locale for freak show performers (as we noted yesterday, an influential episode of "The X-Files" was also set here). The series follows one of the last remaining freak shows, and stars Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, Wes Bentley, John Carroll Lynch, and Patti LaBelle. It is, without a doubt, our most anticipated fall premiere. Because we too are freaks.

What do you want out of the new season? Who are you excited about seeing again? And what is your favorite freak?
