star wars episode vii helmetsAh, "Star Wars: Episode VII" -- there isn't a kernel of new information too small, a rumor too outlandish, to be picked up on the Internet, passed around, and dissected endlessly. Case in point: a series of images have appeared on Indie Revolver that claim to showcase what the new Stormtroopers and Snowtroopers in J.J. Abrams's "Star Wars: Episode VII," as well as the potential wardrobe choices for none other than Han Solo.

Whether or not these are legitimate is anybody's guess. But one thing's for sure: they are really cool.

The Stormtrooper and Snowtrooper designs are really striking; they're very much in keeping with what came before in the original three films, but also new and different and all their own. As more than one commenter has pointed out, they seem to share certain elements with the original Ralph McQuarrie illustrations from the original film. Quite frankly, if these are the actual designs for the characters (and even if they're not), we totally love them.

As for the Han Solo designs, well, they seem much more in line with the original films. One outfit is very much ready for the snow (the fact that Snowtrooper designs and designs for an arctic outfit showed up at the same time suggest a chilly planet is in this new movie), and another that is kind of an older version of what he normally wears. We particularly like the long leather duster.

So, whether or not these are designs from the film, they are certainly an intriguing glance at what direction the new film could take. We'll certainly know more in the months leading up to the film's release on December 18th, 2015. May the Force be with you!
