The first season of "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." ended with a fabulous cameo, some neat reveals, and one cliffhanger. This teaser for the second season gives us a glimpse of what Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) will be wrestling with as the new head of the agency. The team has to rebuild S.H.I.E.L.D. "in the shadows," all black ops-style and undercover, to continue their work of kicking butt and saving lives from the Big Baddies at Hydra. There's plenty of explosions and anguished expressions, plus a peek at Ward's (Brett Dalton) prison scruff.

Series regulars Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, Ming-Na Wen, and Elizabeth Henstridge will be joined by a bevy of fancy new faces, like Kyle MacLachlan, Lucy Lawless, Adrianne Palicki, and Nick Blood.

The second season of "Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." premieres September 23, 9 PM EST, on ABC.
