Now that an all-female "Ghostbusters 3" is officially a go -- and Bill Murray has had his say about his dream cast -- actresses all over Hollywood are no doubt jockeying for a part in the flick. Former "X-Files" star Gillian Anderson is among them, as she used a recent Reddit AMA to appeal to "G3" mastermind Paul Feig to cast her in the hotly-anticipated project.
While promoting her new sci-fi novel "A Vision of Fire," Anderson was asked if she'd be interested in starring in the reboot. Although she was unfamiliar with the project, a quick internet search immediately piqued her interest.
"OH MY GOD, I just looked it up online," Anderson wrote. "Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I'm free!!!!! I'm free I'm free and I'm funny, goddamnit!"
A follow-up post from a Redditor promising to pass around the hypothetical petition got a big thumbs-up from the actress.
"MAKE IT HAPPEN!!" Anderson replied.
Anderson is certainly no stranger to the supernatural, thanks to her years on "The X-Files" (and its subsequent movies). But she has to get in line with the rest of Hollywood; we have a feeling that there's going to be some heavy competition for the flick.
