mr moviefone kevin thompsonLadies and gentlemen, Moviefone has a new voice... and face.

After launching an online search for the next Mr. or Ms. Moviefone back in September, followed by an open casting call in October and weeks of deliberation, Moviefone has finally found the next face of its iconic brand.

Thursday morning, in an exclusive reveal on NBC's "TODAY" show, Kevin Thompson, a former warm-up man for "The Wendy Williams Show" and current host of BET's "Claim to Fame" game show, was named the new Mr. Moviefone. And the Brooklyn, NY native couldn't be happier about the new role.

"To be 'The VOICE' and 'The FACE' of the Moviefone brand brings me immeasurable joy," Thompson says. "Truth be told, I'm just a kid from Brooklyn, trying to make his mother proud. For years, she's told me to shut up; now, I think she's proud I never did."

It truly is a good thing that he never did. As Moviefone General Manager Sharon Kopp explains, Kevin uniquely embodies everything the brand has to offer – and then some.

"We are thrilled to have Kevin as the new face and voice of the Moviefone brand," Kopp says. "Kevin's hosting experience combined with his passion for movies and television stood out to the judges, capturing our attention... and hearts. Kevin has charisma, charm, and a smile that lights up the screen."

Kevin's million-dollar-smile will serve him well. Red-carpet appearances, on-camera interviews, movie and TV reviews, live appearances, and social media takeovers are just some of the duties the new Mr. Moviefone will be taking on.

Stay tuned for more from Kevin Thompson, the new Mr. Moviefone.
