kids movies on netflixIt's always a good time to revisit our favorite children's movies, whether you're introducing your kids to them for the first time or enjoying a Disney classic yet again. If kids' movies like "Dumbo" and "The Rescuers" aren't already in your library, they're available right now to stream on Netflix, along with a lot of newer movies that will appeal to your kids (and to the kid in you).

1. "Anastasia" (1997) G
This winning tale of a girl who might be the lost Romanov princess features the voice talents of Meg Ryan, Christopher Lloyd, John Cusack, and Hank Azaria.

2. "Antz" (1998) PG
Woody Allen voices a neurotic ant who falls in love with a princess (Sharon Stone) and must foil the plans of the power-mad General Mandible (Gene Hackman).

3. "Born Free" (1966) PG
A still-moving classic about the couple who raised Elsa the Lioness, an orphaned lion cub, then released her into the wilds of Kenya. The hit title song, written by John Barry, won an Academy Award and was covered by Frank Sinatra and Andy Williams.

4. "Charlotte's Web" (2006) G
This live-action version of the beloved story of "Some Pig" and a talented spider named Charlotte stars Dakota Fanning, Julia Roberts, Steve Buscemi, and John Cleese.

5. "Chicken Run" (2000) G
Kids might not pick up on all the cinematic references in this claymation caper, but they'll have a blast rooting for chickens trying to make a prison break before they're made into pot pies.

6. "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2" (2013) PG
Flint (Bill Hader)'s food machine is back and this time it's turning out dangerous food-animal hybrids like the Tacodile and the Cheespider!

7. "Cool Runnings" (1993) PG
Inspired by the unlikely but true Olympic long shots, this comedy finds John Candy coaching a team of Jamaican bobsledders.

8. "Dumbo" (1941) G
One of Disney's most beloved movies might be a bit dated now, but try not to well up when Dumbo's mother cradles him in her trunk and sings "Baby Mine."

9. "Escape to Witch Mountain" (1975) G
Forget the recent remake: This tale of two alien kids (Kim Richards and Ike Eisenmann) getting a hand from kindly stranger Eddie Albert, while running from evil Ray Milland is the one to watch.

10. "Explorers" (1985) PG
Young Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix build a homemade spaceship and set off for the stars.

11. "FernGully: The Last Rainforest" (1992) G
A lumberjack learns to love the forest after being shrunk to the size of a fairy in this environmentally-minded kids' flick with voicework by Tim Curry and Robin Williams.

12. "The Great Mouse Detective" (1986) G
Basil the Mouse (who happens to live in Sherlock Holmes's cellar) must defeat the evil Professor Ratigan (Vincent Price) in this Disney adventure.

13. "Hercules" (1997) G
It wasn't as big as "The Lion King" or "Beauty in the Beast," but this '90s Disney animated offering is still a lot of fun, particularly James Woods as the voice of Hades.

14. "Holes" (2003) PG
The popular book about kids at a juvenile detention camp who are forced to dig holes all day became a movie with an awesome soundtrack and a cast including Sigourney Weaver, Jon Voight, Tim Blake Nelson, and Shia LaBeouf.

15. "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" (1989) PG
Hapless inventor Rick Moranis accidentally shrinks his kids, who must then survive giant bees, scorpions and the lawnmower.

16. "Hugo" (2011) PG
Asa Butterfield stars as an orphaned lad who lives in a Paris train station in this magical tale directed by Martin Scorsese that's also an homage to the early days of cinema.

17. "The Karate Kid" (1984) PG
Banzai! You can probably quote the entire movie, but can your kids? If not, start streaming.

18. "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" (1977) G
Perfect for short attention spans: A series of adventures of our favorite bear and his pals, involving honey (of course), bees, bouncing with Tigger, and Eeyore's birthday.

19. "A Monster in Paris" (2011) PG
Ooh la la: This French animated musical adventure about a monster in love with a singer is based (very loosely) on "The Phantom of the Opera."

20. "Mulan" (1998) G
Disney branched out with this non-princessy tale of the daughter of an aging Chinese warrior who disguises herself as a man so she can fight off a Hun invasion. Helped by her talking dragon, of course.

21. "The Muppet Movie" (1979) G
The first Muppet movie is still a delight. You can also stream "The Muppets Take Manhattan" (1984) and "The Great Muppet Caper" (1981).

22. "The Parent Trap" (1998) PG
Some of us prefer this Lindsay Lohan version of two girls who discover they're twins to the '60s original. There was no Speedo-wearing butler in the first film!

23. "The Pirate Fairy" (2014) G
This "Peter Pan" prequel, featuring Tinker Bell on a quest to recapture the Blue Pixie Dust from the Pirate Fairy, features the voices of Mae Whitman, Tom Hiddleston, and Christina Hendricks.

24. "The Prince of Egypt" (1998) PG
The animated tale of Moses was directed by Brenda Chapman, who went on to win an Oscar for "Brave." It stars Val Kilmer, Ralph Fiennes, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Sandra Bullock.

25. "Red Dog" (2012) PG
This Australian family film is based on a true story about a dog who unites a community while searching for his master in the Outback.

26. "The Rescuers" (1977) G
Two mice (voiced by Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor) set out to rescue a little girl from the clutches of the greedy Madame Medusa and her pet alligators. The 1990 sequel, "The Rescuers Down Under," is also available.

27. "The Secret of Kells" (2009) NR
A young Irish boy is tasked with protecting a magical book in this beautifully drawn medieval adventure that was nominated for a Best Animated Feature Oscar.

28. "Swiss Family Robinson" (1960) G
The "Swiss Family Robinson" tree house at Disneyland has long since been remade as a "Tarzan" attraction, but there's always the classic movie of a shipwrecked family to enjoy.

29. "Tarzan" (1999) G
The legendary jungle dweller finds a mate and also a deadly enemy in Disney's musical update. The songs by Phil Collins earned an Oscar.

30. "Tinker Bell" (2008) G
Tinker Bell helps teach kids to be happy with who you are in this adventure best suited for young viewers.

31. "The Wild Thornberrys Movie" (2002) PG
The Thornberrys go to Africa, where a shaman grants Eliza the gift of being able to talk to animals. She learns of a poacher's plot and has to stop it without revealing her new ability.
