The first trailer for disaster flick "San Andreas" poses the question "Where will you be?" when the film's titular fault eventually ruptures, causing a massive 9-magnitude earthquake that ravages the entire west coast.
For Dwayne Johnson, who plays a search and rescue helicopter pilot, he's with his estranged wife (Carla Gugino), trying desperately to get from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their daughter. Unfortunately, that journey is fraught with disaster at every turn, as the fault rupture has repercussions more far-reaching than anyone could have anticipated; as a scientist played by Paul Giamatti explains, "You will feel it on the east coast."
The trailer features effects galore, included leveled cities, a crumbling Hollywood sign, and the Hoover Dam bursting and being reduced to rubble. The clip is soundtracked by a haunting version of "California Dreamin'," but this event is nothing short of a nightmare.
"San Andreas" also stars Kylie Minogue, Alexandra Daddario, Ioan Gruffudd, Archie Panjabi, Hugo Johnstone-Burt, and Art Parkinson. It's slated to hit theaters on May 29, 2015.
