KSS_JB_D11_01307 - Harry (Colin Firth), an impeccably suave spy, helps Eggsy (Taron Egerton) turn his life around by trying out for a position with Kingsman, a top-secret independent intelligence organization.
The spies in "Kingsman: The Secret Service" aren't your typical posh James Bond types, although it's clear that Colin Firth, Mark Strong, and Michael Caine certainly know how to dress for the occasion. Based on the comic by Matthew Vaughn, "Kingsman" has more in common with Vaughn's potty-mouthed "Kick-Ass" heroes than any character cooked up by Ian Fleming.

The newest Kingsman is a young petty criminal named Gary "Eggsy" Unwin, played by Taron Egerton. Although he's used to a life of crime, the fancy gadgets and action-packed adventures of Harry Hart (Firth) and his fellow spies takes some getting used to. In any case, they've got a real problem on their hands with Valentine, an extra-bad baddie with genocide on his mind. (Valentine is played by Samuel L. Jackson with a pretty intense lisp.) It's unclear how closely the movie hews to the graphic novel, but we're hoping it sticks to the whole "Mark Hamill kidnapping" plot device, because hey, Mark Hamill!

In any case, this looks like just the thing for the winter doldrums. "Kingsman," which is also directed by Vaughn, opens February 13. The red band trailer has more cussing and blood than the green band, so pick your poison.
