Could Rebel Wilson be the first addition to the sure-to-be-awesome cast of "Ghostbusters 3"? Nothing is set in stone yet, but the "Pitch Perfect" star has revealed that she's already met with director Paul Feig about the possibility.
In an interview with "Today" co-host Matt Lauer, Wilson was asked about her "Bridesmaids" director's latest project, and whether she was on board. The actress immediately started singing the tune from Ray Parker Jr.'s "Ghostbusters" theme, joking, "I already know the song. I'm ready."
"Look, I have had a meeting," Wilson continued. "But -- who knows."
Wilson added that she would need to see a script before officially signing on to anything. (Screenwriter Katie Dippold ("The Heat") is reportedly hard at work, but not finished yet.) But her love of the first two films is apparent -- she also name-checks the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man -- and her interest in starring in the all-female sequel seems quite high.
"I'd do that for free," Wilson said of starring in the flick. "I probably shouldn't say that live on TV."
Perhaps her fellow "Bridesmaids" co-stars Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy could join her? We hear Bill Murray is totally on board with that idea.
