Good news, "Portlandia" fans: The show has been renewed for not one, but two additional seasons.
IFC made the announcement Tuesday, midway through the run of the cult comedy series's fifth season. The renewal means that "Portlandia" will be back for season six in 2016, and season seven in 2017, with each season running for 10 episodes.
"We are so excited to get to do more 'Portlandia' with IFC," said stars and co-creators Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein in a joint statement. "Getting to work with Jon and our talented writers and crew, it really is our favorite thing in the world. Also, we get to spend more time in Portland!"
"Portland may be a place where young people go to retire, but IFC is not retiring 'Portlandia,'" said IFC president Jennifer Caserta in a statement. "And if you order a book from Toni and Candace at the Feminist Bookstore right now, it might even arrive by the time season seven rolls around."
This isn't the first time that IFC has given "Portlandia" double-season orders: The network previously re-upped the show for two seasons back in 2013.
Catch the rest of season 5 of "Portlandia" on Thursdays at 10 p.m. on IFC.
