Grace of Monaco Movie PosterThis is certainly not the royal treatment. The Nicole Kidman movie "Grace of Monaco" opened last year's Cannes Film Festival, but it's now headed to Lifetime. Yep, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it will premiere as a Lifetime movie on Memorial Day, May 25.

"Grace of Monaco" stars Oscar-winner Kidman as Grace Kelly, with Tim Roth as Prince Rainier III, and Frank Langella and Parker Posey in supporting roles. The film was originally scheduled for late 2013 release and - considering the star and subject - was viewed early on as a potential Oscar contender. Then it was panned by critics, the release date was shifted to early 2014, that didn't work out, and The Weinstein Company didn't include "Grace of Monaco" on its 2015 release schedule. Instead of releasing it in U.S. theaters, a source confirmed to THR that The Weinstein Company decided to sell "Grace" directly to Lifetime.

So now fans have a chance to stay at home and judge whether "Grace" is an underrated gem or a true royal flop.
