Judd Apatow doesn't have much of a career in matchmaking.

The “Trainwreck” director exercised his funny bone on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Monday, performing a standup comedy routine before sitting down and chatting with the host.

He's apparently better at comedy than he is at setting his daughter up on dates.

"My daughter is 17 years old and there are some boys coming around," he said. "Every once in a while a boy will show up who's kind of, like, a strange, weird kid and sometimes I'll think that's me, that's me in high school."

Recalling his conversations, he said, "I'll say to my daughter, 'Why don't you date that kid?' and she’ll go, 'Cause he's a nerd," and I'm like 'You don't understand him!'"

Judd, a self described "ugly guy," said he actually struggles with his home life, since he has no gender similarities to his wife, actress Leslie Mann, and their two daughters.

"I live with three women, three beautiful women, three ages of the same woman, actually," he said. "I'm like the weird guy in the house, you know, because they have so many things in common they can talk about. They can talk about their hair and how to make the curl look right, how to wax their eyebrows, and I'm just the weird guy who's going, 'Can you pop a zit on a testicle?'"

"Trainwreck" is in theaters now. Watch the trailer below!
