Ben-Hur (2016) - Trailer No. 1
Boardwalk Empire" star Jack Houston steps into Charlton Heston's sandals in the first trailer for the "Ben-Hur" remake.

Directed by Timur Bekmambetov ("Wanted"), the film also stars Morgan Freeman, who plays Ildarin -- the man responsible for teaching Judah Ben-Hur (Houston) how to be the best chariot racer in the land. (So it's "Gladiator," but with a Biblical setting, basically.)

Expect the new movie to give a very action-ized take on the original's epic chariot race. The 2016 film is also expected to be more faithful to the original 1880 novel by Lew Wallace, with more emphasis placed on the friendship between Ben-Hur and Messala (Toby Kebbell), before the latter's betrayal.

Watch the trailer above. "Ben-Hur" hits theaters August 12.
