It's too bad he didn't land on his rock-hard abs. Or just on The Rock. Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson are now filming the new "Baywatch" movie -- playing, according to The Rock, "the Avengers of the Beach" -- and it looks like it might actually be the right kind of stupid, brainless, self-aware summer fun.
Here's the cast's classic slow-motion "Baywatch" running shot, spoofed with a face-plant from Efron, in a photo shared by the "High School Musical" alum:
Efron plays hothead Matt, opposite The Rock as by-the-book lifeguard Mitch. The Rock shared his own "Baywatch" photo, with his own classic caption:
We're the #AvengersOfTheBeach and never skip leg day. No cool capes or dope super powers. Just protecting the people with our two hands the good ol' fashion way.. then we go back to being slightly dysfunctional🙃. #ThisIsAlsoHowIThrowMyLadyDownOnOurBed #ThatsMyBabyMakinFace #ImDefGonnaGetTheTalkNowWhenIGetHome 😂 #BAYWATCH MAY 19, 2017
And here's a shot from Kelly Rohrbach, who plays C.J. Parker, the role originated by Pamela Anderson.
She's shown with Alexandra Daddario (Summer, originally Nicole Eggert's role) and Ilfenesh Hadera (Stephanie, Mitch's love interest).
The cast also includes Priyanka Chopra, Charlotte McKinney, and Jon Bass, with appearances from OGs Pamela Anderson and David Hasselhoff.
"Baywatch" will be released May 19, 2017.
