Reese Witherspoon isn't content with being a "newly separated loser" in the trailer for the romantic comedy "Home Again."

Written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer (Nancy Meyers' daughter), the movie centers on Alice, a woman separated from her husband (Michael Sheen) and trying to start fresh in Los Angeles with her two daughters. On an impulse, she invites three aspiring filmmakers (Pico Alexander, Nat Wolff, and Jon Rudnitsky) to live in her guest house. Romantic hijinks ensue, complicated by the unexpected arrival of Alice's ex.The movie definitely has that Nancy Meyers feeling — a woman starting over, messy love affairs, impeccable home decor. She served as a producer on her daughter's movie. Witherspoon told People, "I've seen 'Private Benjamin' and 'It's Complicated' so many times, I can't even count. It was an incredible opportunity to work with Nancy Meyers and her daughter, Hallie, who is a first-time, female filmmaker."

"Home Again" opens in theaters Sept. 8.
