"The Handmaid's Tale" will continue its next chapter this spring.

Hulu announced that Season 2 of the Emmy-winning drama recently began production and will premiere sometime in April 2018. A teaser video posted on Twitter depicted an unidentified handmaid running in the dark with a flashlight — perhaps teasing the fate of Offred (Elisabeth Moss).

The last we saw Offred, she was being taken away by the Eyes from the home of Commander Waterford and Serena Joy. Since Season 1 went over most of the events of Margaret Atwood's book, Season 2 will break new ground in the story of Gilead.

According to an official synopsis, the season will be "shaped by Offred's pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead. 'Gilead is within you' is a favorite saying of Aunt Lydia. In Season 2, Offred and all our characters will fight against — or succumb to — this dark truth."

Hulu also announced more specific premiere dates for several of its original series. "The Path" Season 3 will return Wednesday, Jan. 17, while limited series "The Looming Tower" will debut Wednesday, Feb. 28. New cop drama "Hard Sun" will stream all six episodes starting Wednesday, March 7.
