There may be one thing more awkward than shooting a sex scene: filming it while pregnant.

"Homeland" star Claire Danes has had to deal with that "horrible" situation in Season 7. She opened up about it in Wednesday's episode of "The Howard Stern Show." Host Stern had been complimenting her on a particularly "sexy" scene -- one he compared to modern dance -- and she revealed that it wasn't exactly fun to film. In fact, she described her nude scenes as "so mortifying," and then decided to share some big news.

"I'm going to tell you, I'm pregnant ... like seriously preggo," Danes said.

Based on how thin she is, Stern was shocked. However, Danes assured him she's "deep into [her] second trimester." No wonder the scene Stern liked so much wasn't really Danes's favorite.

The actress declined to reveal whether she's having a boy or a girl, but whatever the case, it will be her second child. She and husband Hugh Dancy have a 5-year-old son, Cyrus. That pregnancy overlapped with "Homeland" Season 2, which was a challenge given her action-heavy role, as she discussed in a 2014 THR roundtable.

It doesn't sound like Danes is having an easier time of it now, either, but she's managing fine. Deadline reports that production is not expected to be impacted by her pregnancy.

"Homeland" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
