Game show fans will have the familiar presence of "Wheel of Fortune" and "Jeopardy!" in their lives for at least five more years: The long-running syndicated series have both been renewed through the 2022-2023 television season.

These latest renewals will see "Wheel" on the air through its 40th season, and "Jeopardy!" through its 39th. And both series will continue to feature their same respective original hosts for at least a few more seasons, with "Wheel" stars Pat Sajak and Vanna White and "Jeopardy!" quiz master Alex Trebek all reupping their contracts through the 2021-2022 seasons.

“'Wheel of Fortune' and 'Jeopardy!' are two of the longest-running shows on television – and for good reason,” said Steve Hackett, President of Sales for CBS Television Distribution, in a press release. “They consistently deliver entertaining, timeless programming that the whole family can enjoy together, creating whole new generations of fans. We’re excited they will continue to anchor stations’ lineups, delivering eyeballs and ad dollars to our partners, for many years to come.”

Trebek had been making noise in recent years that he was ready to retire soon, revealing a few months ago that he was toying with the idea of departing "Jeopardy!" at the end of his most recent contract, which went through 2020. Thankfully, the host had a change of heart, and he and his ever-changing facial hair will be with us for a little bit longer.

And we're also grateful that "Wheel" will be providing us with fail after groan-inducing fail for the foreseeable future, too. May this series and its never-ending parade of hilarity live forever.
