"Late Night" is officially headed to the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, and with the big announcement came the first photos.

The upcoming comedy starring Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson centers on a fictional late-night talk show. Although the host (Thompson) is legendary, her show is in jeopardy. To "smooth over diversity concerns," per the film's official synopsis, she brings on a female writer (Kaling). The character then ends up shaking things up big-time.

The writer of the comedy itself is none other than Kaling herself. She shared the photos via Twitter on Wednesday, Nov. 28.

As you can see above, they offer a glimpse at both Kaling and Thompson's characters. The two are described as "united by their love of a biting punchline," even though they are "separated by culture and generation."

"Late Night" is directed by Nisha Ganatra. The cast also includes John Lithgow, Paul Walter Hauser, Reid Scott, and Amy Ryan.

So far, the exact date of the film's world premiere hasn't been announced. Sundance will run from Jan. 24 to Feb. 3.
