Those rumors that Jake Gyllenhaal is playing villain Mysterio in "Spider-Man: Far From Home" were all true.

The actor just shared an Instagram video of him self reading a classic Spider-Man comic, "The Return of the Man Called Mysterio." A surprised Jake puts it down, saying, "What the...?"

The caption reads: "I just realized I'm not playing Spider-Man."

The "Donnie Darko" star just joined Instagram and this was his first post. He already has 117,000 followers.

You may recall that way back when Tobey Maguire was playing Spidey and nearly bowed out due to a back injury, Gyllenhaal was rumored to be taking over the webslinger's suit.

Now, 15 years later, he's finally joining the Spidey-verse.

"Spider-Man: Far From Home" opens July 5, 2019.
