"Call Me By Your Name" director Luca Guadagnino will start shooting his first TV series, "We Are Who We Are," in a couple of weeks, he told Variety.

The 8-episode series "will focus on “a group of American teenagers on a U.S. military base in Italy" Guadagnino explained.

The main characters are two 14-year-olds, a boy named Fraser Wilson and girl named Caitlin Harper. Everyone in their group thinks they're a couple, but Fraser also has a crush on an older soldier. No cast has been announced yet.

It will air on HBO in the US and Sky in the UK.

The Italian director is currently in Cannes with his short film, "The Staggering Girl," which world-premieres Friday in Directors’ Fortnight. It stars Julianne Moore, Mia Goth, KiKi Layne, Kyle MacLachlan, and Marthe Keller.
