Karthik S Kumar was a small screen actor before making debut in the glamor world. He rose to fame by playing the role of Abhay in the Kannada TV serial '˜JotheJotheyali'. He took part in the audition of the serial and got selected to play the role. He has also completed his engineering studies and has a sportive mind. He is a good basketball player and finds dancing as his only passion.

He is well trained to do various kinds of dance just as '˜Free Style and Hip Hop'. Karthik Kumar is an ardent fan of Hrithik Roshan. He considers Hrithik as his style icon. He made a big sceeen debut with the film "Kiss" directed by AP Arjun. He also changed his screen name to Viraat for this movie.
