  • Has heart to spare, but little new to say. show more

  • If you can overlook Andie MacDowell's Mitteleuropa accent as a Jewish Holocaust survivor (I know: big if), the cinematic roman a clef Mighty Fine has some quiet charms. show more

  • Chazz Palminteri's the best thing in the movie. He now has the look of a slightly beefier Steve Buscemi. But where Buscemi is all nerves on edge and something bad waiting to happen, Palminteri has a winning ease. show more

This was a powerful performance by all 4 of the Fine family members. They make you laugh and cry, and they stay with you for a long time. A beautiful, moving poem read by the youngest daughter sumarizes theirs hopes, fears, losses and potential. Throughout everything the great 70s clothes, cars, furniture and music are a fun reminder of a colorful decade. If you want to see a movie base on a well-written story, this is the movie for you.
