Plot Summary
After years of listening to blaring car alarms in Manhattan, lawyer David (Tim Robbins) has had enough. Taking to the streets, he begins vandalizing cars with increasing violence, until his wife (Bridget Moynahan) finally kicks him out. As David escalates his campaign against noisy automobiles, he begins leaving stickers identifying himself as "The Rectifier." His actions attract Russian student Ekaterina (Margarita Levieva), who encourages him to campaign for an anti-noise ballot initiative.

It's wickedly amusing for a little bit -- Robbins and Hurt really get into it -- but ultimately the film becomes what it's fighting: just noise. show more
