This film is a must see for everyone living in areas endemic to lyme. I wish i had seen it before i had been bit. The second reviewer who claims to be a dr. yet his writing was as hasty, rushed and t... houghtless as i\'m sure his diagnosis of his unfortunate patients, & apparantly he was using this review board for an advertisment for his (unseemly) practice. I had a negative wb test for 6 months after i was bit, and from then on (nearly 7 years) it\'s consistently positive as well as coinfections being diagnosed. It\'s (drs?) like him that refused to treat me those precious first months because of improper results which cause me now to have what even the insurance companies call incurable late stage lyme disease. Please anyone being bit or suspecting lyme DO NOT go to people or places like that, but find a lyme literate dr. who will diagnose and treat (or not treat) based on your symptoms and history and not on unreliable lyme disease testing. At the web site for Underourskin.com Home Page, I make reference to page 10 of 19 (first paragraph) where reference is made to a 2005 John Hopkins study. The author states that a patients who were giv... en the standard Lyme test that produce a negative result, 75% of those negative results were unreliable and the patient did in fact have Lyme's. The question here is "Standard Lymes Blood Test", who order the test for the patient meaning what type of doctor? which test was ordered and what did the lab actually test for? Were the right type of tests ordered? Did the film maker have the test results of the 75% in question reviewed by a trained specialist? The films subjects, were their medical records given to an independent Infectious disease doctor for a second opinion with regard to proper diagnosis for the presence of lyme. What type of treatment if any did these patients receive. When did patients first report being bit by a tick? How soon after being bitten did they consult with their physician. When did the patients first receive treatment after their initial consult with their doctor. What was the prescribed treatment plan. My office sees and treats many infectious disease patients. This disease is treatable if in fact it is diagnosed and caught in time. To say with certainty when one was in fact infected with lyme is questionable. A patient can appear at a doctors office stating that they removed a tick from their body three weeks ago while on vacation. This gives the doctor a starting base line. However, the same patient may have previously been bitten by a tick on previous vacation three years prior and never discovering that the tick had already fallen off. This of course presents another problem and this is exactly why one needs to see an infectious disease specialist. Documentary's are great and in this case the director Andy Abrahams Wilson brings to light a very important disease that is in fact growing throughout our nation. Patient awareness is one of the contributors to identifying lymes today even more so patients having access to the Internet. Lymes disease cases have increased because the public has become more aware of what they need to look for when medical issues that could possibly be related to lymes begin to ***************. Here at infectious Disease Medical Practice of NY, we specialize in the treatment of lymes but we have guide lines that we need to follow. An absolute must see. The film will get under your skin. It's been 20+ years of politics for the hundreds of thousands inflicted with Lyme and other tick borne illnesses. This film will hopefully o... pen the eyes of many. Bravo. Full Review
