Mindy Kaling is one of my favorite people in Hollywood, so I've been eagerly anticipating news about her second book, "Why Not Me?" Now, Kaling has revealed the book's cover, release date, and lots of juicy information about just what fans can expect when it arrives later this year.

"Why Not Me?," due out on September 29, is the follow-up to Kaling's bestselling essay collection, "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)," a hilarious mix of stories about her personal life and career, and meditations on Hollywood, shopping, and friendship. Her second book promises more of the same from the creator of "The Mindy Project," including satire surrounding starlets' beauty secrets, reflections on not fitting into Hollywood's weight standards, and an entire chapter (dubbed "Soup Snakes") devoted to her oddball relationship with fellow actor and writer (and onetime boyfriend) B.J. Novak.

"Mindy turns the anxieties, the glamour, and the celebrations of her second coming-of-age into a laugh-out-loud funny collection of essays that anyone who's ever been at a turning point in their life or career can relate to," reads the book's official blurb. "And those who've never been at a turning point can skip to the parts where she talks about meeting Bradley Cooper."

Check out the book's cover image -- featuring a gorgeous shot of Kaling against a striking Tiffany blue background -- below, and get excited for "Why Not Me?"'s so-close-yet-so-far release date. Is it September yet?
