"The Leftovers" is going Down Under!

The critically acclaimed HBO drama started in upstate New York and then moved to Texas in its second season. For its third and final season, Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) heads to Australia. As creator Damon Lindelof told Entertainment Weekly, "Australia is the end of the world geographically and our show is about the end-of-the-world emotionally. And there's also something about Australian cinema — it's primal, ancient and spiritual — that felt like it fit 'The Leftovers,' whether it's 'Mad Max' movies or 'Walkabout,' or 'Waking Fright' or Peter Weir movies."

EW also has the first image from the new season, which premieres in April:

And since this is the final season, Lindelof said fans can expect that the eight episodes will be "building toward something conclusive."
