Is a 'How I Met Your Mother' Reunion Happening?

20th Century Fox TV Dana Walden said yesterday said she'd love to see the hit CBS series, which ended in 2014, make a comeback, Deadline reports.

During Fox's upfront press call on Monday, Walden said, "I hope we will have an opportunity to revisit these characters and tell these stories if have the desire to do it. It's a beloved show that still continues to be popular all over the world."

That's a pretty big if since lead A Series of Unfortunate Events;" as is Cobie Smulders, who also has Netflix's "Friends From College" and returns as agent Maria Hill in "Avengers: Infinity War."

There was talk of a spinoff called "How I Met Your Father. It which would have been told from a woman's point of view and feature brand-new characters. "This Is Us" co-executive producers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger wrote a spec script, but when they were promoted to co-showrunners on "This is Us," the project was shelved.

If "How I Met Your Mother" does come back, it had better not be as gut-wrenching as that knife-in-the-heart finale.
