John Krasinski is down to play a superhero "if there are any left" to play.

He's currently promoting his new horror movie "A Quiet Place," costarring his real-life wife Emily Blunt.

Screen Rant asked him a pretty leading question tied to joining the "Fantastic Four," but Krasinski's answer suggests he's game for that, and just about anything:

Screen Rant: A lot of our fans at Screen Rant love the superhero stuff. You and Emily have both flirted with this for a little bit... any chance that you guys could be playing the Invisible Woman and Mr. Fantastic?

John Krasinski: Oh yeah, the Fantastic Four. I would love that! I mean listen, I'm still getting into the whole superhero thing. I didn't read comics as a kid, not as many, I read some but not as much, but I'm a huge superhero fan so yeah, I'd love to do something like that. If there are any left, a lot of these have been taken but the ones that are left, yeah, I would love to do something like that. And listen, I'd love to work with her again so any chance I got would be great.

Back in August 2016, Krasinski told Conan O'Brien about his screen test for Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The role ultimately went to Chris Evans, but Krasinski blamed Chris Hemsworth for his own failure:

"It was a big deal for me. First of all, I love those Marvel movies. I love superheroes. I love imagination. So when they asked me to test, they actually allowed me to put on the suit. I was on a set. It was actually very interesting. ... But I remember the only bummer of it was, I was putting on the suit, just watching, like, 'This is so amazing' and I got about right to my waist. I was still shirtless, feeling pretty good about myself ... and all of a sudden Chris Hemsworth walked by as Thor. And he's like, 'Hey, mate.' And I went, 'I'm good! This is stupid. It's OK. I'm not Captain America. It's fine.'"

Heh. "Fantastic Four" was clearly not his first choice, and maybe the world doesn't need still another attempt to make a great version for the big screen. But if someone does try again, Krasinski is willing to step into the costume and hopefully drag Emily Blunt along for the ride.

Speaking of this wonderful couple, here's Krasinski revealing he angered a London customs agent when he explained that he's married to Emily Blunt:"A Quiet Place," directed by Krasinski, opens in theaters this Friday, April 6.
