Is Aaron Paul Frontrunner to Play Han Solo?

No sooner did Disney announce that a new "Star Wars" movie will focus on a young Han Solo did the speculation begin on who would be the next Harrison Ford.

An early favorite appears to be "Breaking Bad's" Aaron Paul. Not only does the U.K. press say he's the bookies' favorite (apparently they bet on this sort of thing in Great Britain) but Paul himself has fueled the fire on social media, posting on Instagram a screen grab showing that shortly after the announcement, the official Star Wars Twitter account started following him.

And in case we missed it, he also tweeted that his "dreams are coming true" by having Star Wars follow him.

One thing standing in the way (besides the fact that nothing has been revealed officially) is that Paul, at age 35, may be a little old for what the studio describes as an origin tale that "focuses on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley."

And certainly other younger actors have been mentioned -- in fact, virtually every young actor has been mentioned, including Miles Teller, Garrett Hedlund, Nicholas Hoult, even (back at the older end) Chris Pratt, though history shows that Paul may be able to pull it off. Ford, himself, was 31 when he shot 1977's "Star Wars."

Another unanswered question is what role, if any, Ford could play. He's in the upcoming "Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens," per the trailer (below), and if CGI could send Arnold Schwarzenegger back in time in "Terminator Genisys," anything's possible.
