1. Scotland

January 19th, 200944 min

Two teams of friends are determined to have lots of fun when they go shopping at an antiques centre in Glasgow. Experts Paul Laidlaw and James Lewis are on hand to offer advice and help spot a bargain or two. Among the items purchased are a pair of mandolins and an unusual cubist plaque. There's a definite buzz in the air at the auction and some very happy contestants. Presenter Tim Wonnacott also visits Dumfries House and looks at a piece of Chippendale furniture which cost nearly 50 pounds when bought but is now worth up to five million pounds.

2. Devon

January 20th, 200944 min

A mounted ostrich egg and Victorian magic lantern are among the interesting items bought by bargain hunters in the picture-postcard setting of Honiton, Devon. Presenter Tim Wonnacott, always on the look-out for something different, discovers an acupuncturist's model among the treasures in the town's waterfront antiques centre. He also visits Saltram House near Plymouth, and takes a close look at the interior handiwork of 18th-century architect and designer, Robert Adam.

3. Peterborough

January 21st, 200944 min

Presenter Tim Wonnacott delves into the vaults at Peterborough Museum and discovers some delicate paintings done by Turner when he was just 20 years old. There are also some treasures to be found at an antiques fair and experts Anita Manning and Charles Hanson are on hand to point the teams in the right direction. But will the items they buy make any profit when they are sold at auction?

4. Scotland

There is always plenty to dance about when Bargain Hunt visits Scotland, and this is no exception. The teams scoop up some brilliant bargains at an antiques centre in Glasgow, including a decorative decanter and glasses, and a pottery jug complete with an additional parasol handle. There is great excitement at the auction and plenty for the teams to smile about. Tim Wonnacott visits Dumfries House and learns how one man's attempts to woo a bride have left a lasting impression on the place.

5. Grimsthorpe

January 23rd, 200944 min

Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits stately Grimsthorpe Castle in Lincolnshire and looks at how it was extravagantly refurbished in the 19th century. Experts Mark Stacey and David Harper lend a hand to the bargain hunters searching out good buys at an antiques fair held in the castle's grounds. But will their finds make any profit at auction?

6. Devon

January 26th, 200944 min

Two teams of amateur collectors have an hour at an antiques fair in which to acquire the best bargains possible with 200 pounds. Bargain Hunters scour a selection of antique centres in Honiton, Devon, assisted by experts Philip Serrell and James Braxton, before their items are sold at auction in the county town of Exeter. Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits stately Saltram House and discovers wonderful wallpaper and magnificent mirror paintings in a 'Chinese' bedroom.

7. Peterborough

January 27th, 200944 min

Presenter Tim Wonnacott gets to grips with a 2,000-year-old sword, discovered by a farmer in the River Nene in 1983 and now housed at Peterborough Museum. Bargain hunters at the town's Festival of Antiques also try to spot treasures which have gone unnoticed, helped by experts Anita Manning and Charles Hanson. Among their finds are a Wedgewood platter, a seed pearl necklace and a figurine.

8. Grimsthorpe

January 28th, 200944 min

Lalique glass and a Mauchlinware egg timer are among the items bought by bargain hunters shopping in Lincolnshire. Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits Grimsthorpe Castle to learn how it was made fit for a king's visit in the 16th century; having satisfied bon viveur Henry VIII, the castle continued to enjoy its reputation for entertainment. At auctioneer Charles Hanson's sale in Derbyshire, Tim comes across a pair of Queen Victoria's bloomers, which he watches go under the hammer for more than 4,000 pounds.

9. Builth Wells

January 29th, 200944 min

A Beswick pheasant and a miniature armoire, or wardrobe, are among the items found by bargain hunters at an antiques fair in Builth Wells. But will they make any profit when they are sold at auction in Malvern? Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits the magnificent Capesthorne Hall near Macclesfield in Cheshire, and looks at a painting of the stately home commissioned from the matchstick men artist, LS Lowry, in 1954.

Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits Saltram House in Devon and discovers a former owner's interest in gaming, and a chair purpose-built for watching cock fighting. Meanwhile, the teams scour the quayside antique centre in Topsham, helped by experts Philip Serrell and James Braxton. Among the items they buy are a writing slope and a ceramic swan. But will they make any profit at auction?

13. Grimsthorpe

February 4th, 200944 min

Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits Grimsthorpe Castle and discovers how the title of Lord Great Chamberlain did the stately pile a power of good. A newly-engaged couple take on a husband and wife married for 43 years in their search for bargains. They are advised and guided by experts Mark Stacey and David Harper. But will their items make any profit when they are sold at auction in Mackworth, Derbyshire?

14. London

February 5th, 200944 min

A pair of old roller skates and a Captain Scarlet board game are among the items bought at an antiques fair in Alexandra Palace, London, but will the auction bidders be looking for retro toys when the items are sold in Sussex? Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire and tells the story of the final resting place of Katherine Parr, the sixth and last wife of Henry VIII.

15. Peterborough

February 6th, 200944 min

Three antique dealers and a former auctioneer make up the teams, but will their inside knowledge help them in their search for bargains? Their finds include a teddy bear, a carved bull and a bright red retro heater, with one of the items catching them all by surprise at the auction. Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits Peterborough Museum and looks at some of the amazing carvings made by prison inmates from their salt meat bone rations.

16. Builth Wells

February 9th, 200944 min

Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits stately Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire and focuses his attentions on two masterful fireplaces and two magnificent panoramic paintings of the Bay of Naples, all in the grand drawing room. At the antiques fair in Builth Wells, a Beswick shire horse figure and a pair of silver toast racks are among the items found by the bargain hunting teams, and expert Jonathan Pratt finds something very close to home for his bonus buy.

February 10th, 200944 min

Two Aussie boys take on a pair of glamorous air hostesses in the search for bargains at the Alexandra Palace antiques fair. The boys, helped by Kate Bliss, put their money on colourful coffee spoons and a pretty WMF Eve-and-the-serpent tray, while the girls, assisted by Thomas Plant, opt for some silver doll's house furniture and a fan-shaped dance card. But who will profit at auction? Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits Petworth House in West Sussex and looks at some elegant wooden carvings.

A George III mug and a spelter golfing figure are among the items bought at an antiques centre in Scotland, but will they make any profit when they are sold at auction in Glasgow? Auctioneer Anita Manning is the queen of the gavel, and works her hardest to make everyone smile. Presenter Tim Wonnacott travels to Dumfries House and explores the facilities.

19. Devon

February 12th, 200944 min

Two teams prove they have similar tastes when they select almost-identical Denby pots from an antique centre in picturesque Topsham, Devon. But will they make the same amount of profit when sold at auction in Exeter? At Saltram House near Plymouth, presenter Tim Wonnacott discovers an ornate encrier, or inkstand, which he says is "as rare as a hen's tooth".

20. Builth Wells

February 13th, 200944 min

The bargain hunters alight on a mixture of traditional antiques and more contemporary, wacky, items at the antiques fair in Builth Wells. When the items go under the hammer in Malvern, it is the old classics which still prove to be winners. Meanwhile, Tim Wonnacott visits Capesthorne Hall in Cheshire and explores a boxroom which is full of boxes.

The Reds and Blues look for bargains at the nearby Festival of Antiques, and their finds include a decorative kettle and an ornate jade, pearl and gold brooch. Expert Charles Hanson promises to swap allegiance from Derby County to Norwich City if one of his finds doesn't make a profit.

At the Builth Wells antiques fair, experts David Barby and Jonathan Pratt help the teams, who all have an interest in food or catering. Items found include a Scandinavian silver and enamel drinking cup, and a wooden chest. But will their items make any profit at auction?

24. London

February 19th, 200944 min

Epsom Downs Racecourse brings good fortune to one of the teams, with an immaculate horse race board game which proves to be a winner when sold at auction. Presenter Tim Wonnacott visits the Foundling Museum in London, built near the site of the former Foundling Hospital, home to scores of abandoned babies and children. Among the hospital's greatest benefactors was the artist Hogarth, and Tim takes a closer look at one of his paintings.
