Bill Maher Talks 'Religulous'

"Religion is just an opinion. It's your opinion, and it's no more sacred than my opinion about anything else."

Bill Maher is prepared to be public enemy no. 1 to the world's devout. "I think I've been that for about 15 years," the host of HBO's 'Real Time With Bill Maher' tells us. That very well may be, but expect the war of holy words to really blow up (no pun intended) when Maher's rabble-rousing documentary 'Religulous' hits theaters nationwide.

Directed by Larry Charles, the man behind the 2006 smash hit 'Borat,' 'Religulous' follows Maher on a "spiritual journey" across the globe as he interviews subjects as diverse as an actor playing Jesus Christ at a Christian amusement park, gay Muslims, an anti-Zionist rabbi and a U.S. senator who admits, "You don't have to take an IQ test to run for Senate." If you found Borat's wrestling match with a 300-pound naked man offensive, wait until you hear what Maher has to say about the Old Testament. Moviefone talked to the world's most outspoken agnostic for more insight into his controversial shtick.

Extended Clip from 'Rachel Getting Married'

Anne Hathaway really knows how to bring the house down.

The Oscar nominee shortlist typically begins to take form in September at the Toronto Film Festival, and though this year's slate was on-the-whole disappointing, a few actors emerged as early favorites.

One of those is absolutely Anne Hathaway, who feels light years removed from 'The Princess Diaries' as a troubled twenty-something released from rehab to rain on her sister's wedding parade in 'Rachel Getting Married.'

In this fittingly longer-than-usual exclusive clip, Kym uses her long-winded toast at the wedding rehearsal dinner to fulfill one of her 12 steps in recovering from drug addiction. Awkward!

Michael Cera Interview for 'Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist'

Michael Cera"I like to mystify people with my CDs."

Having made awkward an art form in 'Arrested Development,' 'Superbad,' and 'Juno,' Michael Cera takes his first true crack at leading man-dom with 'Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist,' a 'Before Sunrise'-esque tale of two (awkward) teenaged lost souls who come together during one night of indie-rock-infused adventure in Manhattan.

In an exclusive interview, Moviefone chats with Cera about his ideal mix tape, the possibility of a 'Pineapple Express'-'Superbad' hybrid and whether those pesky 'Arrested Development' movie rumors will ever prove true (fingers crossed).

Film of the Week: 'Protagonist'

Four men prove real life can be far stranger than fiction.

On paper, Jessica Yu's documentary 'Protagonist' does not sound like the most alluring film: It's essentially four talking heads telling their life stories. But the four men Yu has found for this somewhat-experimental work are extremely alluring subjects.

Hans-Joachim Klein is the German son of cop/Nazi sympathizer who becomes one of Europe's most notorious terrorists. Mark Pierpont attempted to "save himself" from homosexuality by becoming a Christian missionary (it didn't work). Joe Loya is a Mexican American who was beat so brutally by his father he rebelled by stabbing him in the neck and robbing 29 banks. And Yu's husband, Mark Salzman, is so tired of being picked on and so inspired by David Carradine he becomes a kung fu master.

What ties them all together, according to Yu? They could be straight out of Euripedes play. 'Protagonist,' which debuted at Sundance and played in limited release last November, is an underseen gem. You can watch in full, or snag it onto your own site, from SnagFilms.com.

Exclusive Clip: 'Flash of Genius'

An inventor must choose between $30 million ... and pride.

Sounds like an easy decision, doesn't it? But if Robert Kearns (Greg Kinnear) had taken the money and retired on a beach in the Caribbean somewhere, there probably wouldn't have been a movie made about him (or a very interesting one, anyway).

'Flash of Genius' tells the inspirational story of Kearns, who invented the intermittent windshield wiper (of course you knew that already) and spent the rest of his life fighting the automobile companies for the credit.

In this exclusive clip, a litigator attempts to convince Kearns to settle out of court to the tune of $30 million (and this is '60s, so that's like a billion dollars today). Of course Kearns shoots him down, but what's surprising is how resolute his kids are. Think about how many Radio Flyers you could buy with that pay out!

'Flash of Genius' opens Friday.

5 Questions With: Stan Lee

Stan Lee"We have to make sure that the 'Iron Man' sequel does better than 'The Dark Knight' sequel."

Behind every great superhero, there's a great writer, and in the case of Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four and Iron Man, that scribe is Stan Lee.

With his trademark dark glasses and grandiose cadence, the former Marvel Comics chairman has become as iconic as the characters he helped create, thanks in part to his amusing movie cameos, like his two-minute turn as a Hugh Hefner wannabe in 'Iron Man.'

On the occasion of that hit flick's DVD release, Moviefone chatted with the comic book giant about the 'Iron Man' sequel, which stars we can expect to see in 2011's 'The Avengers' and how he felt about one of the few superhero flicks he had nothing to do with.

Ask 'W' Stars Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Banks a Question

Josh Brolin in WGrill George Bush and Laura Bush -- via Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Banks.

Most of us wouldn't be able to get access to President Bush if we tried. The Secret Service might have a thing or two to say if we ran up to him shouting our burning questions.

But we're giving you a chance to do the next best thing. Well, sort of.

In Oliver Stone's biopic 'W,' Josh Brolin plays Dubya as a young man of privilege, who rises from feckless alcoholic to Commander in Chief of the most powerful country in the world. Elizabeth Banks plays Laura Bush, the woman who stands by his side through it all.

Now, it wouldn't be an Oliver Stone movie if it weren't just a little bit controversial. So when Brolin and Banks sit down to interview each other using your questions, maybe they won't be talking international politics -- but you can bet they'll have some interesting stories to share.

Got something you want to ask Brolin or Banks ... or even Pres. Bush and the First Lady? Ask it here before this Saturday, Sept. 28, then check back here on Oct. 13 to see if your question made the cut. Be sure to include your name and where you live. Thanks, good luck, and God bless America.
