King) and footage of the man at work beside kindred spirits like Dr. John, to construct a moving, un-mawkish portrait of a songwriting icon. show more

  • Even if you know this history already, A.K.A. Doc Pomus is vital and endearing, a celebration of a great artist, a great character, and the universality of great pop. show more

This was a five star wonderful documentary about a larger than life songwriter who I had never heard of but learned I knew and loved many of his songs. The story will leave you smiling, singing and tearful. He was a jewish boy from brroklyn with music soul from harlem who touched the lives of so many famous singers and songwirters of his time. Don\'t miss this!
