Mooney (Liane Balaban) feels trapped in her small coastal Canadian town, and with good reason: When she told her parents that her teacher Cecil (Andrew McCarthy) had offered her a spot at an art school in New York, her parents forbade her to go. Then surly Lou (Tara Spencer-Nairn) moves into the neighborhood, reportedly from Manhattan.
