It's a fun ride. What's missing is the excitement of a new interpretation. show more

Wanders far away from the infectious and propulsive zing that we've come to expect the past nine years. show more

Donkey continues to be lovable, and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) has one of the funnier character arcs. show more

    Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal

Having run its course in the third installment, the franchise jogs and lurches but mostly meanders through a story that tests the limits of true love (Shrek's, and ours). show more

The visual jokes -- one standout is an army of ogres condemned by the Pied Piper to perpetual line-dancing -- are pretty irresistible. show more

More redux than sequel, the final Shrek is more parent- (and specifically dad-) oriented than ever; it may also produce the first twinge of nostalgia in the kids who thrilled to the original at a formative age. show more

For this last chapter, the filmmakers play things relatively straight, resulting in the best Shrek movie to date. show more

This a waste of a movie. They should have ended at the 3rd movie.

I thought this movie was great. I went in expecting less because I thought the 2nd movie was not nearly as good as the 1st. This one was close to the 1st, and it was a good ending to the series. I would recommend seeing this one in the theater. Storyline and moral of the story were both good.

How can anyone say thsi was a good movie? There wasn't more than five things that were funny! The first two were the best. What a disappointment. wait until it comes out for free on cable.

I love this movie! Unlike the second and third one, the first one and this one are awesome. It's entertaining, a great family movie, and great acting. I highly recommend this movie for your whole family!

The scenes were too dark, the story was extra-pedestrian and stale, even for kids. Enjoyed Eddie Murphy abd Antonio Banderas.
