To paraphrase the popular cliche: a busy Mark Wahlberg gathers no moss. In addition to leading the action-thriller 'Contraband' (in theaters Friday), Wahlberg has a plethora of other features in various stages of development: a star turn in the Seth...
It may be redundant to heap further praise on a movie that was recently nominated for seven Academy Awards, won two and turned out to be a crowd pleasing hit at the box office, but David O. Russell's 'The Fighter' truly is a wonderful little movie, taking...
Everyone loves a story about the underdog winning against all odds, and last year's Academy Award-winning 'The Fighter' fit the bill. The film triumphed over its own set of struggles, with Mark Wahlberg determined to see the project through for years...

to Saav9705: Mark Wahlberg is a low life himself and I am sure that's one of the reasons he took the role.. please read his wikipedia page..the man is a racist and once a racist always a racist
excellant movie, acting ,story very realistic, some of the best work from these actors and actreses, Cristian Bale excellant the movie was one of the best I have seen in some time.
This movie was about the lowest class of human beings you can find. The family of Mark Wahlberg were pure trash. The mother and sisters were all about taking advantage of Wahlberg and using ... him purely for their needs. They had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. The brother, Bale, was a drug addict former boxer who silmilary was just using his brother until he gets thrown in jail, sobers up, and repents (after getting out of jail he lets his brother continue with his new girl and manager without intervening). Apart from this insignificant gesture, he too had no redeeming qualities. In fact, just about everybody in this movie, with the exception of Wahlberg's father and new girlfriend, were low lifes. I don't like to say this about anyone, but anyone in Wahlberg's shoes should have been smart enough to run as far away from his trash family as possible. This was clear. Why he didn't is beyond me. Anyone who sees this money will notice (1) this trash and (2) ask "why in the world didn't Wahlberg get rid of his family long ago." The movie and especially the characters sucked. Full Review
