Wondering how you'll show your significant other just how much you love him or her this Valentine's Day? Why not take notes from movies that serve up romance with a foodie twist? With the annual day of love just around the corner, we pulled together a...
Some 300 movies came out in 2007, and we managed to see almost every one that mattered (sorry, 'Who's Your Caddy?'). Hollywood had a good year, despite all those three-quel let-downs. We battled like Spartans (but with fewer casualties) to hammer out this...
The new movie 'Julie & Julia' is based on two memoirs: that of Julia Child (Meryl Streep), who moved to Paris as a diplomat's wife and became one of the most influential food writers of our time; and that of blogger Julie Powell (Amy Adams), who,...
Among the many sad things about the 2006 murder of writer-actress-director Adrienne Shelly was the fact that she left behind a screenplay that was apparently intended to be her next film, after Waitress, which she finished just before her death. The...

A cute little sleeper film. It grows on you each time you see it. Definitely see in when you\'re in the mood to make pies. It\'s a bout the choices we make in life -- some good, some bad -- and pursui... ng our dreams. The characters are flawed, but they are real. There are no clear villians or heros in this piece. Even the husband, as reprehensible as he is, has some redeeming qualities. You can see why she fell for him before the relationship went sour. He\'s a rather lost soul who wants love but is unable to share it. It lifts the spirts because even when she\'s in this horrible relationship, there is beauty in her soul, expressed by her ability to make pies. She still pursues her dreams, and even if she makes some bad choices along the way, in the end she makes the right one. Full Review

Life, just ain't perfect, and there is no sugar coating i... t. We just can't get it right and I give Shelly all the credit for tying to make a happy ending. Full Review
This movie is wonderful!!! I really enjoyed it. I think a lot of women can identify with the characters in this movie. I saw it on cable and I'll be buying it to add to my collection this weekend. Ha... ts off to mis Russell!! Your performance is wonderful girl!!! Full Review
Romantic? Charming? This is one of the blackest, most shallow, and depressing movies of all time. Nothing uplifting. Not a character worth empathizing with; they are all villians. A bad, implausa... ble story told badly. Humorless. An episode of "Cheaters" filmed in pastel would be more entertaining. The requisite "coma" of soap operas and chick flicks. And not even a good pie recipe. Full Review
