1 hr. 25 min.
Amid the bustle of her mother, Ann (Fay Bainter), visiting with old flame Titus Jaywood (Roland Young) and the departure of her father (Ian Hunter) on vacation, Ellen Murray (Priscilla Lane) learns her boyfriend, Doug (Jeffrey Lynn), is going to Europe for two years. Distressed, Ellen convinces Doug they should spend the weekend alone at a lakeside cottage. When Ann forbids it, Ellen accuses her liberated, feminist mother of hypocrisy, and despite Doug's own reluctance, the couple departs.
