Sequels and superhero movies are easy targets to mock, so when you put them together and have the mockery come from Deadpool himself ... it's gold. Or at least silver. Just don't let a sophomore slump lower the bar to bronze.

The R-rated "Deadpool" was a massive hit for Ryan Reynolds, director Tim Miller, producer Simon Kinberg and company, and they are hard at work on "Deadpool 2." After a TCAs panel on Friday, Kinberg talked to /FILM about Wade Wilson's wit war ahead.

"I think Deadpool 2 will comment on anything that's happening in movies today especially in superhero movies. The sort of glut or saturation of these movies and the proliferation of sequels is definitely something we'll play around with."

The site also asked Kinberg about the casting of Cable, the "X-Men" character Deadpool teased at the end of the first movie. There was talk that Stephen Lang would take the role, but /FILM said he has to work on the "Avatar" sequels, and Kinberg said they haven't picked anyone yet.

"I've seen rumors from about everybody from Arnold Schwarzenegger to I can't even remember. We haven't cast him is the truth."

Who is Cable? Here's a description from Comicbook.com:

"Created by Rob Liefeld, Cable is the son of Cyclops and Madelyne Pryor who made his first appearance in New Mutants #87. A grim, serious character, he's been a frequent foil for Deadpool, especially in the time since Deadpool was established as genre savvy, the differences between the two make for some interesting chemistry and solid humor."

There may still be time to suggest a favorite to play the role. "Deadpool 2" is meant to start filming in early 2017.
