Don't watch this teaser for "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events," warns the Netflix series' star Patrick Warburton. Or you, too may join the crew in succumbing to "melancholia, ennui, and acute wistfulness" after witnessing the story of the Baudelaire orphans.

"Look away before this dire tale is in even filmed and avoid the cruel whimsy and whimsical cruelty of what's to come," Warburton's titular author says in this teaser trailer, which also reveals the premiere date: Friday the 13th, January 2017.
Netflix's series is based on the bestselling books by Daniel Handler and follows the Baudelaire orphans — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny — as they are beset by their greedy, evil uncle, Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris), who is intent on stealing their inheritance.
