Moviefone covers movies, TV, streaming and the people who make them. We publish news, reviews, interviews and guides to help readers decide what to watch and where to watch it.
Moviefone is owned and published by Moviefone Media LLC. This page explains who writes for us, how we report, and how we fix mistakes.
Who writes for Moviefone
Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it. Each byline links to an author page with that writer’s background and recent work.
Our editors review stories before they publish. Our writers include entertainment journalists who have covered film and television for many years, and several regularly interview filmmakers and cast members directly.
Accuracy and sourcing
We check facts before we publish. Release dates, cast lists, box office figures and streaming availability come from studios, networks, distributors and official announcements.
- We name our sources whenever we can.
- We credit other outlets when we report a story they broke.
- We label rumors and unconfirmed reports clearly, and we don’t present them as fact.
- Interviews are conducted by our writers. Quotes are reproduced accurately.
Streaming availability and showtimes change often. We update these pages as information changes.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so.
- Factual errors are corrected promptly. A note at the end of the article explains what changed.
- Minor fixes like typos or formatting are made without a note.
- When an article is substantially updated with new information, we show the updated date.
To report an error, email info@moviefone.com with the article link and what needs fixing.
Reviews and ratings
Moviefone reviews are written by named members of our staff. Each review reflects that critic’s own opinion.
Our scores run from 0 to 100. They are the critic’s rating, not an average of other reviews.
Studios and networks sometimes provide early screenings or screeners. This access never comes with conditions on what we write, and it doesn’t affect the score.
Independence and advertising
Our editorial team decides what we cover. Advertisers don’t.
- Advertising is sold separately from editorial and is clearly marked as advertising.
- Sponsored content, if we publish it, is labeled “Sponsored” and written separately from our newsroom.
Use of AI
Our news articles and reviews are written and edited by our staff. Some data pages, such as showtimes and streaming listings, are generated automatically from official sources.
