Hit Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" will return to the network for a special marathon next month.

The Miley Cyrus-fronted sitcom, about a girl named Miley Stewart who lives a double life as the titular teen superstar singer, will once again air on the Disney Channel during a marathon set to begin on December 3, and end on December 29. It's unclear how the marathon will be structured, but TVLine surmises that the show's 98 episodes will be aired in blocks of about four per night for the duration of the event.

Disney Channel announced the marathon on Twitter, and based on fan reaction so far, it looks like this event will be a popular one. That's par for the course with "Hannah," which dominated Disney's airwaves during its original run from 2006 to 2011. According to TVLine, "The series premiere set a viewership record for the network, and a 2007 episode with guest stars the Jonas Brothers scored 10.7 million total viewers." Not too shabby for a cable series.

No word yet from Cyrus about the marathon (the singer long ago shed her innocent Disney image, and has criticized the show in the past); we'll see if she has anything else to say about the series once it begins re-airing. So far, Disney Channel has not announced specific airtimes for the episodes.
