The women of "Ocean's 8" look much too cool for school -- or at least eye contact with each other -- in the first official photo from the sequel/spinoff, which isn't even due until June 2018. The shot shows our eight main characters on the NYC subway, carefully spaced out (mind the gap) in their own car, complete with luggage.
Here's the ultra-glam lineup (via Entertainment Weekly):
- Sandra Bullock as Debbie Ocean
- Cate Blanchett as Lou
- Rihanna as Nine Ball
- Mindy Kaling as Amita
- Awkwafina stars as Constance
- Helena-Bonham Carter as Rose
- Anne Hathaway as Daphne Kluger
- Sarah Paulson as Tammy
According to Collider, Sandra Bullock plays the sister of George Clooney's character, Danny Ocean, and she has her own Brad Pitt right-hand woman in Cate Blanchett. (This movie is set in the same cinematic universe as the Clooney/Pitt/Damon "Ocean's" movies; it's not a reboot.)
Debbie Ocean rounds up her own group of thieves to steal a necklace at the Met Gala and try to frame "a villainous gallery owner." Matt Damon's Linus Caldwell is known to have a cameo, and fashion designers are expected in the Met Gala scenes, but we're curious to see who else shows up.
"Ocean's 8" will be released June 8, 2018.
