'The Vampire Diaries' Hot Topic TourThe End is almost here for "The Vampire Diaries," and each day brings new photos and promos to help you prepare.

First of all, why is Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) back for the series finale? She's confused herself, as fans saw in a brief promo teasing her reunion with Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley):

Entertainment Weekly also shared several photos from the final episode, showing Elena awake -- perfect hair, perfect wardrobe, natch -- along with shots of the rest of the gang: Stefan and brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) look to be having a serious tête-à-tête; and Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Caroline (Candice King) look like they're up to something. We also see a behind-the-scenes shot with director/writer/executive producer Julie Plec and Matt Davis (Alaric):

At the end of Season 6, Elena was left in a magical coma, with her life tied to Bonnie's, so Elena couldn't wake up until Bonnie died ... or so we thought. Did something bad happen to Bonnie, or did something good happen to the spell? Maybe she was having such a good hair day, the spell just broke on its own.

"The Vampire Diaries" wrapped filming on February 8, and it was a nostalgia-fest. The final episode, Season 7, Episode 16, "I Was Feeling Epic," airs Friday, March 10 on The CW.
