Daenerys Targaryen has good reason to mourn, but Emilia Clarke found some humor that her character hasn't.

Warning: There are spoilers from "Game of Thrones" Season 7, Episode 6, "Beyond the Wall," ahead.

Saving Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and the rest of the men on his mission to capture a wight came at a cost for Daenerys. In the battle, the Mother of Dragons lost one of her fire-breathing children, Viserion. Although her character was devastated by the death, Clarke found something to laugh about. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actress pointed out how fitting it is that the dragon now aligned with the enemy is the one named for her scheming brother Viserys.

"Of course it's the rotten egg," she said, "of course you'd turn."

That said, Clarke recognizes how awful Viserion's death is for her character, who has repeatedly referred to her trio of dragons as her children over the years.

"It's a heartbreak," she told EW. "Not only losing it but having that being given to the other side."

Yet, with her plans to meet with the Lannisters moving forward, she doesn't have much time to mourn. Daenerys, Jon, and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) have other immediate concerns, even as sad and terrifying as the idea of her dragon fighting for the Army of the Dead is.

The "Game of Thrones" Season 7 finale airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.
