What is dead may never die! Wait. Wrong show?

"Roseanne" is coming back to ABC starting March 27, and John Goodman is returning as Dan Conner ... despite Dan dying in the original series finale. No matter. He's now alive and well enough to yell at the TV while watching sports, as shown in a series of new promos.

One of the promos features Roseanne Conner (Roseanne Barr) seeming to address the dead elephant in the room through a sports-related joke. Dan and Becky (Lecy Goranson) are shown watching a Bulls basketball game, and Roseanne asks how it's going. Becky says "It's dope," but Dan says he still thinks the Bulls of '96 and '97 would've beat these guys any day. Here's Roseanne's response:

"You can't live in the past, Dan. When things are gone, they're gone forever."

Haha. Not true for Dan, and not true for the show.

Here are the two other new promos, including one with Sara Gilbert as Darlene:ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey previously said, of Dan returning from the dead, "I don't want to talk too specifically, but I wouldn't say we'll ignore the events of the finale. Dan is definitely still alive."

In terms of having two Beckys -- one original, and then recast -- the show found a clever way to include both Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke. Laurie Metcalf, Michael Fishman, Estelle Parsons, Sandra Bernhard, and Johnny Galecki are also returning.

The 2018 "Roseanne" revival will launch with a special hour-long episode at 8 p.m. on March 27. The show will move into its regular half-hour 8 to 8:30 timeslot starting Tuesday, April 3.
