David Letterman's first guest on his new Netflix talk show really needs no introduction.

Former President Barack Obama will make his first talk show appearance since leaving office on "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman," which premieres Jan. 12 on Netflix.

The one-hour, six-episode series will stream monthly. Other guests include actor George Clooney, Nobel Prize-winning Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai, rapper Jay-Z, actress Tina Fey and radio personality Howard Stern. Each episode consists of in-depth conversations with a single guest, both in and out of the studio, as well as side field segments related to that guest.

The show marks Letterman's first talk show since he left CBS' "The Late Show" in May 2015. He has appeared infrequently in public since then; he made a cameo on NatGeo's "Year of Living Dangerously" docuseries.
