Ready to Netflix and chill with Idris Elba?

The British star has signed a deal to create, produce, and star in a comedy series for Netflix. Called "Turn Up For Charlie," it will be eight half-hour episodes.

Elba will play Charlie, a struggling DJ and eternal bachelor, who is given a final chance at success when he reluctantly becomes a manny to his famous best friend's problem-child daughter.

Elba himself started out as a DJ in the East London club scene before breaking out as an actor in stage, television, and film. Best known for his award-winning work on "Luther," he also appeared in the movies "Beasts of No Nation," "Star Trek: Beyond," "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Molly's Game." And of course, he is a perennial fan favorite choice to play James Bond. He continues to perform as a DJ around the world.

This is the second show he's created that is loosely based on his life, after the Sky One comedy series "In the Long Run."
